The Heart of Akranes is an audioguide that leads you from Akranes Lighthouse through the town to Langisandur beach. Along the way, you will encounter stories about the people who shaped the town, life by the harbour, the struggle of women working in the fishing industry, and the changes brought by new ways of making a living.

We pause by houses, boats and memorials, listening to stories that connect places with the lives once lived there. The walk also invites reflection: What makes a town a community, and what do we want to nurture when circumstances change?
